We are seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team, providing expert cleaning, maintenance, repair, and installation skills across various facets of the hearth industry. The ideal candidate will possess basic working mechanical knowledge. Previous experience in hearth, light electrical, and/or plumbing is a plus.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of alternative heating appliances including pellet, wood, gas, and electric stoves, inserts, and fireplaces as well as various grilling appliances. A valid driver’s license and qualified BCI report must be provided. Most importantly, the position requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and a commitment to safety and quality standards. Pay rate and benefits are commensurate with experience.

Duties

  • Perform installation, cleaning, maintenance, and repair of alternative heating appliances.
  • Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately.
  • Conduct field service tasks including appliance repair, equipment troubleshooting, and system calibration.
  • Perform vehicle upkeep, maintenance, and service as required.
  • Interact daily with customers to assess and provide solutions for their appliances.
  • Follow safety protocols during all service activities to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Document service activities thoroughly for client records and future reference.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a service technician in the hearth maintenance field.
  • Knowledge of schematics and technical systems.
  • Hands-on experience with appliance installation, repair, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with electrical and plumbing preferred.
  • Ability to operate diagnostic tools effectively.
  • Prior experience working with mechanical components is advantageous.
